Start here: the setup guide

A new chapter has a setup guide. It asks one question at a time and finishes each step by itself when the work is done. A computer or tablet makes it easiest, but a phone works.

  1. Sign in with the email address your chapter was set up under. You get a 6-digit code by email, no password. See Signing in without a password.
  2. Accept the Terms and Privacy Policy and answer the welcome questions. Only your name is required.
  3. On Home, tap Continue setup under Finish setting up your chapter. Later, find it again under You manage, then Setup guide.

Not an officer? The guide is for chapter officers. Ask one to make you an officer, or to send you an officer invite.

  1. Your chapter. Chapter name and H.O.G. number, your sponsoring dealer and its short name, the dealer’s address, and the dealer pin: click the map where rides start (if the map won’t load, type the dealer’s latitude and longitude instead). Tap Save profile. The step turns green when your dealer and its pin are in.
  2. How people join. Choose whether people with your code join right away or ask first, and who approves photos. Tap Looks good when you’re happy.
  3. Your board. Send each officer an invite with their email and position. It’s a one-time link that works only for that address and lasts 14 days. Seat your full board on Officers in the Chapter console.
  4. Your members. Copy your invite link and share it in your newsletter, Facebook group or at a meeting. Have a member list? Open Members and tap Import roster. With no export to use, download the sample CSV and fill it in. Tap I’ve shared the link when it’s out.
  5. Your first challenge. Start a draft with a title and dates. Then add stops and schedule it on Challenges. See Set up a challenge in 15 minutes.
  6. Calendar and photos. On the Platform plan, add your first event and, if your calendar lives on HOG[SCAN], paste its ICS subscribe link. On the Challenge plan this step only shows what Platform adds.
  • The dots at the top show where you are. A check means done, a dash means you put it off, and you can tap any dot to jump there.
  • Steps finish themselves from what you’ve actually set up. Under each step’s name, one line says what’s missing.
  • Skip for now puts a step off without losing your place. The reminder on Home goes away once every step is done or put off.
  • You can stop any time. Opening the guide again picks up at the next step still to do.
  • Anything the guide does is also in the Chapter console, so nothing is locked behind it.
  • The guide never emails your members. Imports and invites only go out when you tap send.
  • Waivers and release forms stay on paper. Kickstand doesn’t replace them.
